The dovecote

In the Middle Ages the dovecote was a sign of wealth and only lords of the manor had the right to build one.  In addition they contributed towards rural economy: the pigeon excrement was used as a fertilizer and the pigeon meat was a supplementary income.

Come to Lomagne and discover its 94 dovecotes.
